Revolution is coming!!

I feel like a lazybone after my exam.  I can't really finish my targets before I start Year 2 tommorrow~

What had I been doing with all my time in Year 1 aside from studying?  ... really need some kinds of reflection and confession... but never mind, it's always no use of looking back, and I am pretty sure that I do need some kind of revolution in changing my dry uni life in Year 2.

It's really a good rest during the winter vacation.  My most happiest time during this vacation was mocking around with old friends and travelling to Sydeny and Gold Coast.  Regarding my trip, I do have some praises, complaints and recommendations that some potential tourists might like to have a look at.

Sydeny is always a good place to visit but never to live in.  It's so dirty and packed with people and high-rise buildings.  In addition, the food are expensive for just no quality!  After this trip, I now realize how good is the food in Mel.  I think I definitely should not complain so much about the food in Mel anymore from this moment onwards!

Blue Mountain is definitely a place that everyone should visit when they are in Sydney.  Here, I recommed the Blue Mountain one day trip offered by 'Happy Coach'.  It's the cheapest agent that anyone can found in Sydney.  Although we didn't have luxurious coach to travel on, however, the friendliness and professional knowledge of the guide was really fantastic!  I had to be honest that the Blue Mountain trip was the tiredest day that I had through out my trip (as it required me to do two bush-walking for more than 2 hours).  However, it was the happiest day that I had had and it really killed me with lots of pics!

Hunter Valley is another spot that I will recommend to tourists in Sydney, but according to my experience, it's only suitable for people who love drinking and buying wine.  Just keep in mind that there are mainly two types of Hunter Valley one day tour: Wine tour (Sept - Feb) and Wine tasting tour.  Wine tour is a tour which allows you to have a look at the production of wine aside from just tasting wines.  Wine tasting tour is just purely the tasting of wine (and sometimes even chocolates - please don't be attracted by this as it's really quite different from what you imagine, olives and cheese).

Very unfortunately, I didn't know about the difference before I joined my Hunter Valley one day wine tasting tour in Sydney with my friend.  I was just brought around different wineries tasting different wines for the whole day in which nearly at the end of the day, I had also given up my rights in which I was paying for.  I tasted more than 35 wines on that day, without knowing the differences between them as I never drink.  That day was the most unhappy day that I had throughout my trip.

Gold Coast is definitely a good place for relaxaion and summer vacation.  Please don't be misled by the official website of Australia about the activities that you can do in Gold Coast.  In Gold Coast, aside from theme parks, beaches and water activities and shopping, you still have a lot more interesting activities to try.  Some include the paradise farm and the tropical fruit forest.  I only knew this after I arrived in Gold Coast.  Gold Coast is absolutely worth more than how the Australian Government promotes it.

A concluding thought of my trip: It's so lucky that I haven't chosen to study in Sydney!  I am really satisfied with staying in Mel for my 4 years of tertiary education now.  To me, Mel is actually a city standing between Sydney and Gold Coast and it's always the best for education as it has got a whole range of famous unis to choose.  It's quiet, relaxing and historical.  Unlike Sydney, it just gives you a feeling of LOST.

New semester is coming tom, and I will strike to make my revolution plan successful.  Changes are coming!

The University of Melbourne

I have been attending this uni for half a year already... What do I think about it?... Well, for sure, I think it is absolutely expensive!... but alongside, I think the quality of teaching and the studying environment is a very nice one.

Mel Uni is a mixture of modern and ancient.  It has been standing in Mel for more than 150 years.  On the main campus, you can always find very old buildings with all kinds of modern equipments inside.  I like the old buildings a lot... because they are rarely seen nowadays anywhere.  The styles of the ancient buildings are such like castles for the royal families to live in!  I don't really realize all these until I took pictures on campus after my examination the previous day before.

This is the Old Quadrangle.  This passage is the main passage on campus which leads to different places.  I always walk past this and I like this a lot!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am now studying Bachelor of Commerce.  I don't really often have lessons on the main campus in which I had just shown.  I mostly have lessons in a building called 'The Spot' and it is located 3-5 mins walk away from the main campus.  This building is a new one that has just been built not long ago before I enter Mel Uni.  How lucky I am!  I like this building extremely since it's so comfortable and beautiful!

We always call this building as 'cow'

I think my experience as an overseas student is interesting, exciting and challenging.  I have always like this experience and I have never regretted making the choice to come to Mel!

Second year in Australia - Uni...

I had been very busy since the end of June until now - organizing the change of uni, finding and moving to a new place, starting uni, adapting to a new life, assignments.....

I am now attending the University of Melbourne.  Everyday, I have to get the tram to uni.  The tram takes about 30 - 45 mins.  Although it's not as convenient as before going to school and shopping, but still I like the place that I am living in now compare with the hostel that I had been living for 1 year when I was studying foundation.  Let me share something in which I am proud of starting from July until now: my cooking is not bad !

NOTE: I ONLY START COOKING IN AUSTRALIA.  I HAD NOT COOKED IN MACAU

Food cooked by me:

I am now studying Bachelor of Commerce.  This course will last for 3 years.  For my first semester, I had chosen to stduy Accounting Report and Analysis, Introductary Microeconomics, Quantitative Methods 1 (Statistics) and Principles of Business law.  I think Statistics and Business Law are difficult.  Sometimes, I don't even know what the lecturers are talking about during the lectures!

Same as last year, I got a two-week term break in September which is piled up with work.  But of course, I will still relax myself a bit.  This year, I had gone to the tulip festival with my friends.  Moreover, I had gone out eating different cuisines with my friends: Italian, Thai...  It's really nice!

Talking about the tulip festival, I didn't know if I felt happy or not.  The weather that day kept on changing - sunny, cloudy, rainy... but this is not the worst thing!  The worst thing is: while I was at the foot of the little tulip hill, ready to go up after taking pictures, ice suddenly fell from the sky!  Oh my God~  Hail.  This is the first time in my life to see hail... and it was so cold after that.  After going to the festival, my shoes, jeans and my top were full of mud.  It's so embrassing to walk in the city for food and tram back home with all the mud...

I am very happy that I will be coming back to Macau at the end of November.  This year, I will be staying until Chinese New Year has passed.  I am looking forward to meeting all my friends and see how they are going on when I come back!

Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone.

A new start...

6 days after the graduation, 20 May, the last lessons for MUFY ended.  It seemed that everyone doesn't want to leave the college, including me.

The feeling that I had this year when the semester ended is totally different from what I had last year.  There's no happiness and excitement....  only the feelings of uncertainty and reluctant to part.  Honestly speaking, I am not missing the lessons that I have (they are such a rush!... even until the last moment).  I am missing the teachers and my dear friends.

Here, I experience how foreign teachers are different from Asian teachers.  Most of the foreign teachers are friendly, enthusiastic and patient.  They never blame students for not knowing the answers to their questions in class.  Moreover, they don't mind even no one speaks up.  They just try their best again to encourage their students to speak up and think.  They are happy to talk and help you any moment when they are free, even though you are a very troublesome student asking lots of questions and worrying useless stuff! (-> me)  I don't feel we have a gap (like Asian students with Asian teachers) between us.  I really feel that we are friends with one another and we can talk (like friends) whatever we like in between us (... even straight away you tell them that they are teaching badly and what their weaknesses are... they love students to express their opinions about them very much!)

I have finished my exam on the 28 May.  I will be having a break of about one and a half months now.  I would like to find a part-time job during this time.  Moreover, I will have to deal with my university stuff and my new place for living.  I am happy that I will soon be free from the poor quality but expensive hostel!  Everything in it sucks!!

Best Wishes and Good luck to all my friends!  I hope everyone can get into their first preference of tertiary eduction!

P.S.  New photos are found in the graduation album and there are new photos about me , my teachers and my friends
